Lessers Sunda Birding Trip 18D17N

The Lesser Sunda Islands, also known as the Nusa Tenggara Islands (Indonesia: Nusa Tenggara Islands, formerly the Lesser Sunda Islands), are an archipelago in Maritime Southeast Asia. Most of the Lesser Sunda Islands are located within the Wallacea region, except for the province of Bali, which is next to the west of the Wallace Line and on the Sunda Shelf. Together with the Greater Sunda Islands to the west, they form the Sunda Islands. The islands are part of a volcanic arc, the Sunda Arc, formed by subduction along the Sunda Trench in the Java Sea. The main Lesser Sunda Islands are, from west to east: Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba, Sawu, Rote, Timor, Atauro, the islands of Alor, the Southwest Islands, and the Tanimbar Islands.
